Citta Balance began from a conviction that the moment between what happens to us and how we respond is where healing lives — and that families in crisis are too often denied the space to find it. When a loved one is struggling, the people around them are frequently handed pamphlets, waitlists, and contradictory advice, then left to manage the rest through fear and exhaustion. This practice exists to change that experience.
Citta is a word from Buddhist psychology that holds mind, heart, and awareness as a single field — not separate parts to be managed, but an ecology to be understood. That understanding sits at the center of everything here. The work integrates contemplative tradition with empirically grounded methods: Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT), Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention, trauma-sensitive practice, and restorative facilitation. None of it is offered as technique alone. It is offered as a way of being with people in difficulty.
There is more than one way to reach this care. Most individual and family engagements are private-pay, with rates reflecting the depth of the work and discussed during your initial consultation. Citta Balance also maintains pro bono capacity and partnerships with organizations extending care to the people they serve — reach out, and we'll find the path that fits.
